The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries advises assistance is available for primary producers in activated areas affected by North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Trough 25 January - 6 February 2019.
Producers are able to access support through:
- Category B assistance to help affected producers with concessional loans, essential working capital loans and freight subsidies.
- Category C assistance to support producer’s access to grants to help clean-up and recover.
Please contact QRIDA on 1800 623 946 or visit www.qrida.qld.gov.au/
Assistance is provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-Queensland Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and is in addition to the assistance already activated for North and Far North Queensland.
Primary producers who have suffered major damage outside the above declared areas may apply for an Individual Disaster Stricken Property (IDSP) declaration. Visit www.daf.qld.gov.au or call 13 25 23 for further information.
We’re also helping to organise emergency fodder drops for producers impacted by the devastating flooding. Producers who need to support stranded cattle can register for a fodder drop at www.agforceqld.org.au.
AgForce has swiftly developed an Emergency Fodder Drop Map, to allow producers who are in urgent need of fodder to record what resources are required to sustain their animals and where it should be delivered. This information is then passed on to Emergency Services and the Australian Defence Force in a coordinated effort to assist producers.
The effort is being delivered by Australian Government, the Australian Defence Force, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, local government and AgForce Queensland.
